Most of them work on what you pick from the Photos app or share from another app, and they save the result back to your library. Large videos can take a while because Shortcuts processes them on the device, so expect a short wait on older iPhones.

When a shortcut needs full photo library access rather than a single picked image, the page says so. If you prefer to keep access limited, look for shortcuts that use the photo picker instead.
