Downloader shortcuts usually break whenever a platform changes something, and then you’re stuck waiting for the author to post an update. UNQ Download avoids that by doing the hard work on its own server, so fixes for new platforms arrive without you reinstalling anything.
Inside the shortcut
Share a post to UNQ Download, choose Video or Audio only, and it saves the result. Videos and photos go to Photos. Audio goes to Files, in a folder you pick.
Version 2.0 rebuilt it from scratch. Main features now:
- Save from any app through the Share Sheet, from a copied link, or by pasting a link when it asks.
- Video in the best available quality, or just the soundtrack as an audio file.
- Multi-file posts such as carousels, where you can save everything at once or pick one item.
- What’s new, a built-in page listing new platforms, fixes and known issues.
- Support links to Discord and Telegram.
Behind the scenes, the server picks a working download service for each platform. When a platform changes, the fix happens on the server and your copy keeps working.
Supported platforms
Working: Instagram, TikTok, X (Twitter), Facebook, Reddit, Pinterest, Tumblr, Bluesky, Dailymotion, Twitch clips, Streamable, SoundCloud, Rutube and VK videos.
Partly working: YouTube Shorts and short YouTube videos, and some Threads posts.
Not working right now: Vimeo, Snapchat, Bilibili, Newgrounds, OK.ru, Loom, CapCut and VK clips.
Being tested: LinkedIn, Douyin, Kuaishou and Xiaohongshu.
You’ll find the live status list in the shortcut’s What’s new section.
Getting it set up
Run it once and allow access to Photos and Files when iOS asks.
Running the shortcut
From Instagram, TikTok or any supported app, tap Share and choose UNQ Download, then pick Video or Audio only. If you run it from the Shortcuts app without sharing anything, it reads a link from your clipboard, and if there’s nothing there it asks you to paste one. It checks for updates each time it starts.
Where saved files go
Videos and photos land in your Photos library. Audio-only downloads are saved to Files, in the location you choose, which makes it easy to keep a podcast clip or a song snippet in a dedicated folder.
Troubleshooting
A long YouTube video or audio track fails. YouTube currently blocks those. A server-side fix is planned.
A private post won’t download. Only public posts work. Private accounts, login-only stories and deleted posts can’t be saved.
A platform that worked yesterday fails today. Platforms sometimes block downloads for a while. Try again later and check What’s new.
Quick answers
What does the server see?
Only the link you share, used to find the file. Links aren’t stored, though the server keeps a short-lived request count to prevent abuse.
Do I need to update the shortcut for new platforms?
Not usually. New platforms and fixes are added on the server, and the shortcut tells you at launch when a real update is required.
