Ever tried to save a TikTok photo slideshow and ended up screenshotting each frame by hand? TDownload pulls TikTok videos in HD, grabs single photos out of a slide post, and handles X videos and images too, all from the Share Sheet without an extra app.

What this shortcut does

TDownload is a small downloader built around three jobs. It saves TikTok videos at HD quality, it lets you pick one image out of a TikTok photo slide by typing the slide number, and since version 2.0 it also downloads videos and photos from X (Twitter).

You can feed it a link in two ways: share the post straight to the shortcut, or copy the link first and run TDownload, which reads the URL from your clipboard. There’s no account, no setup screen and no settings to dig through. The author lists iOS 17 as the minimum.

Supported sources

Instagram and Facebook are switched off for now. The changelog says the API credits behind those two ran out, so treat them as unavailable until a later update says otherwise.

How to install

  1. Make sure your iPhone runs iOS 17 or later.
  2. Run it once and allow the permissions it asks for.

How to use it

Open the TikTok or X post, tap Share, and pick TDownload from the Share Sheet. If you’d rather work from the clipboard, copy the post link, then launch the shortcut from the Shortcuts app or a Home Screen icon. For a photo slide it stops and asks which slide number to save, so count across the carousel before you start.

Where your files go

The shortcut’s own setup is a single step: grant permissions. Those prompts appear on the first run and decide where the media can be written, so read each one before you tap Allow. If a download finishes but you can’t find it, the most likely cause is a permission you declined on that first run.

Troubleshooting

Nothing downloads. The shortcut needs an internet connection for every request, so check that you’re online first.

An Instagram or Facebook link fails. Those sources are disabled in v2.0 because the API credits are exhausted.

The wrong photo saved from a slide. Run it again and double-check the slide number you typed.

Quick answers

Can it save every photo in a TikTok slideshow at once?

Not in the current version. You pick a slide number and it saves that single photo, so a ten-image post means ten runs.

The author paused Instagram and Facebook support after the service credits ran out. TikTok and X still work.

Does it need any other app installed?

No companion app is listed. Shortcuts plus an internet connection is all it asks for.
