Publishing a shortcut update usually means opening a browser, signing in, finding the listing and pasting a new link by hand. This tool skips the browser: it publishes updates to your RoutineHub listings straight from the Shortcuts app, one at a time or several at once.
What it does
It’s a modified version of RoutinePub, RoutineHub’s official publishing shortcut, reworked to ask fewer questions and add a few extra features. You’ll need it only if you publish shortcuts on RoutineHub yourself.
Main features:
- Publish one update. Push a new version of a single shortcut with one tap.
- Publish in bulk. Send updates for several shortcuts in one run, which saves real time if you maintain a collection.
- Name check. It compares the names of your shortcuts on your device with the names on your listings, shows any mismatches and lets you fix them by hand.
- Fewer prompts. Confirmation steps from the original have been trimmed.
Mismatched names are the sneaky problem the name check solves. Rename a shortcut on your phone and forget the listing, and later updates can end up pointing at the wrong thing.
Getting it set up
- Create your shortcut listing on RoutineHub and set it to Published.
- Open it in RoutinePub to find the listing’s shortcut ID.
- Get your API key from the API section of your RoutineHub account settings.
- Run it and paste your API key when prompted.
Running the shortcut
Before publishing, make sure your shortcuts list is synced, which the author recommends for best results. Then run the tool, choose single or bulk publishing and pick the shortcuts to update.
Run the name check after renaming anything. It takes a few seconds and saves you from mismatched listings later.
If you want your users to receive updates automatically, pair this with an update-checking kit inside your shortcuts. Publishing a new version is only half the job; your users’ copies also need a way to notice it.
Use cases
- Pushing a quick bug fix from your phone without opening a laptop.
- Updating a whole collection of shortcuts after an iOS release in one pass.
- Cleaning up listings whose names have drifted from your local copies.
Limits
It works only with RoutineHub and needs your account’s API key. Your API key grants access to your account, so keep it private and never paste it into shortcuts you don’t trust.
FAQ
How is this different from the official RoutinePub?
It’s the same idea with fewer prompts, bulk publishing and the name check added.
Do I need to credit it?
Its author asks that you consider giving credit in shortcuts published with it, but it’s a request, not a requirement.
Can it create a brand-new listing?
Setup has you create and publish the listing on the website first. This tool handles updates after that.
