You find a song you love on Apple Music, go to send it to a friend, and remember they’re a Spotify diehard who can’t open your link. This shortcut handles that gap. Share the track, run it, and the matching link for the other platform lands on your clipboard, ready to paste wherever you were headed.

Inside the shortcut
The core job is small and specific: take a song link from one streaming service and find its equivalent on the other. You feed it a Spotify link, it hands back the Apple Music version, and the reverse works too. There’s no account to connect and no API token to paste in, which is the part most people appreciate. The conversion runs against an online lookup behind the scenes, so the only requirement is that the song actually exists on both services.
Getting it set up
- Open the RoutineHub page for the shortcut on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap the link to load it in the Shortcuts app.
- Review the actions if you like, then tap Add Shortcut at the bottom.
- The first time you run it from a song, approve any permission prompt Shortcuts shows.
Running the shortcut
In Spotify or Apple Music, open the song you want to convert and tap its Share option. Scroll the Share Sheet until you spot the shortcut, tap it, and it goes to work. After it finds the match, the converted link is copied for you and a small menu pops up. From there you can open the song in the other app to play it right away, push the link back out through the Share Sheet to a friend or a social post, or, when you’ve converted toward Apple Music, add the track straight to your library. If a song isn’t available on the target platform, the lookup simply won’t find a match, so the cleaner the source link the better your odds.
Common questions
Do I need a paid Songlink or Odesli key for this?
No keys, no signup. Version 3.2 switched the lookup to pastesong.vercel.app for steadier results on Apple Music links, and that runs server-side, so you never touch a token.
Will it work on albums and playlists, or just single songs?
It’s built around individual tracks shared from the Share Sheet, and that’s where it’s most reliable. A full playlist conversion is a different and much messier job; for one-off songs, this does the trick.
Why did my conversion come back empty?
Usually it means the track doesn’t exist on the other service, or the matcher couldn’t pin it down. Try sharing the song directly from the app rather than pasting an old or shortened URL.
