This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit LibShortcut (https://libshortcut.com), how that information is used, and the choices you have. We've written it in plain language, because a policy you can't actually read protects no one. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.
Who we are
LibShortcut is an independent website that publishes a curated library of free iOS Shortcuts and how-to guides for iPhone. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask you to submit personal information to browse the site.
Information we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site:
- Information you choose to send us. If you email us through the contact page, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to act on your message.
- Standard log and technical data. Our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information, the same as nearly every website does: your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, and the time of your visit. This is used for security, diagnostics, and aggregate traffic measurement.
- Cookies and similar technologies. Cookies are small files stored on your device. We don't use first-party cookies for our own analytics. Our advertising partner (Google) and similar services, however, may set both first-party and third-party cookies on this domain to deliver and measure ads, as described in the next section.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and we never sell your personal information.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site may display advertising served by Google through the Google AdSense program. The following disclosures apply:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings (My Ad Center).
- Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
For more detail on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see Google's "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" page.
For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, we obtain consent through a Google-certified consent management platform before personalized advertising cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time using the consent controls shown on the site.
Third-party links
Our pages link to external resources — Apple iCloud install links, app developers' sites, and the official pages of tools mentioned in our guides. When you follow one of these links you leave LibShortcut, and the privacy practices of those sites are their own. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit. We are not responsible for the content or data practices of external sites.
How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and secure the website.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To understand, in aggregate, which content is useful so we can improve it.
- To display advertising that helps keep the site free.
Your privacy choices and rights
You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them, and you can use the advertising opt-out links above. Depending on where you live, you may also have specific legal rights:
- EEA / UK (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Where ads are personalized, you may withdraw consent at any time, and you can lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. Our lawful bases are your consent (for personalized advertising) and our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (for basic technical logs).
- California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell your personal information for money. Serving personalized ads through third-party cookies can count as "sharing" under California law; you can opt out of it using the advertising opt-out links in the advertising section above.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details on the contact page and we will respond within a reasonable period.
Children's privacy
LibShortcut is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Data retention and security
We keep messages you send us only as long as needed to handle your request. We rely on reputable infrastructure providers and reasonable technical measures to protect data in transit, but no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the site changes or the law does. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and note anything significant here. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
